Genevieve LeBaron, Ali Bhagat, and Kam Phung receive SFU Breaking Barriers Grant

 

Re:Structure Lab Co-Principal Investigator Genevieve LeBaron, Co-Investigator Ali Bhagat, and Co-Investigator Kam Phung received a Simon Fraser University Breaking Barriers Interdisciplinary Incentive Grant. These grants encourage interdisciplinary scholarship and aim to deepen our understanding of and create solutions for the world’s most pressing issues.

LeBaron, Bhagat, and Phung’s project “Why Doesn’t Canada Have Worker-Driven Social Responsibility? Examining Migrant Work, Forced Labour, and Agribusiness in the Okanagan Valley, Canada” aims to examine the experiences of agricultural workers in the Okanagan Valley and understand industry forces on worker-led collective action.

Re:Structure Lab celebrates this award as part of LeBaron, Bhagat, and Phung’s multidisciplinary approach to ending forced labour in global and local supply chains.
