Re:Structure Lab Hosts Multidisciplinary Convenings at SFU Vancouver and Stanford
Re:Structure Lab was proud to host convenings at Simon Fraser University and Stanford University this Fall, as part of the Lab’s commitment to make connections across scholarly disciplines and among key civil society actors in the pursuit of effective policy to promote equitable business practices and economies.
In September, Re:Structure Lab hosted labour policy scholars and civil society leaders to explore how research, advocacy, and policy can come together to combat forced labour. Attendees included JJ Rosenbaum and Sahiba Gill of Global Labour Justice, Scott Nova of the Workers Rights Consortium, Theresa Haas of Workers United, Judy Fudge, Professor of Labour Studies at McMaster University, and Anannya Bhattacharjee of Asia Floor Wage Alliance.
In October, Re:Structure Lab hosted economists, political scientists, historians, lawyers, and business scholars to discuss improving quantitative data and analysis on the business of forced labour to inform policy towards an equitable economy.
Re:Structure Lab looks forward to future cross-disciplinary engagements to build knowledge and take action against forced labour in global supply chains.
